My life in the dog fancier world of purebred dogs began in 1985 with German Shorthaired Pointers. My mentor and I bred some of the oldest lines in the country for 16 years which provided me the foundation to enter into the breed of Rhodesian Ridgebacks
I first fell in love with Rhodesian Ridgebacks in 1996 when I met a young Excalibur who grew up to become, MBIS, MBISS Ch. Nashira's Excalibur of Ridgelea, ROM.and #1 RR in 1997. I was not provided the opportunity to obtain my first Rhodesian Ridgeback until 2003. It was then that Chiastolite (chee-ass-tow-lite) Rhodesian Ridgebacks were founded.
While my breed may have changed my ethics and standards remain the same:
*To preserve the positive qualities of the breed especially the original working Bushveld style Rhodesian Ridgeback.
*To breed sound, healthy, well tempered dogs
*To breed dogs that can perform the job they were intended to do.
In the show ring, Chiastolite dogs & their get are ranked in top 25 RRCUS, all breed and all systems.
On the lure coursing field Chiastolite dogs continue to rank in top 25 in AKC RR and combine AKC and ASFA rankings from 2012 to present day
In 2012 Siena was ranked #1 AKC RR and her littermates ranked top 25 that same year.
Our dogs and get are multiple group winning, group placing, reserve best in show & Best in Show winners in AKC, UKC or FCI registries.
Chiastolite dogs excel on and off the field and are now taking on the nose work arena by storm, clearing interior and exterior searches in record times.
Chiastolite's legacy continues with 4 generations of top 20 AKC, ASFA and sight hounds in the rankings every year.
